DEFA charging station winner of ADAC European test

Press release -

DEFA charging station winner of ADAC European test

As German automobile organisation ADAC carried out a comprehensive test of leading charging stations for electric vehicles, the overall winner was DEFA’s 11kW charging station from German manufacturer ABL. DEFA is the distributor of ABL charging stations in all Nordic markets, and the two companies have a long-standing co-operation in product development. ADAC is Europe's largest automotive organisation with more than 20 million members. ADAC conduct extensive tests of cars, accessories and equipment on a regular basis.

The ADAC test in brief:

Charging stations from leading brands ranging in power from 3.7 kW to 22 kW were thoroughly tested on functionality, safety, documentation and test certificates, warning functions and installation instructions. Other key parameters were how the installers perceived the installation procedure and facilitation/ guarantee that a completed installation was carried out in a correct and safe manner.

The clear winner of the test was DEFA’s 11kW charging station from German manufacturer ABL. ADAC describes the charging station as safe, reliable and very easy to use.

- We are happy that the test proclaimed one of our EV charging stations the winner, and that the safety aspect was highlighted as an area where our stations are superior. Our hardware is solid, and we have a good process for educating and supporting both installers and customers. Proper quality assurance throughout the production and installation process, as well as the fact that we only deliver our charging stations “installed and ready for use”, makes DEFA the most reliable partner for anyone looking to install EV charging solutions, says Ståle Kvitle, Vice President, e-mobility & Lighting at DEFA.

DEFA is the largest and most experienced provider of EV charging solutions in the Nordics, with more than 60,000 up and running charging points so far.
